KAHELELANI BACKGROUNDS: VERTICAL

2019 oil on masonite panel, with applied pieces of sterling silver leaf. Measures 8" by 8", with the painting's back featuring my thumbprint in oil. 

 

This painting is 1 of 2 in a series. I created this while figuring out how to create the background for my larger painting "Kahelelani: An Enduring Humanity".  Made with the same materials and copper leaf that I used there, this painting features a vertical orientation and a darker yellow tone compared to the "Horizontal" version.
