This is picture 3 of 4 in a series of modern landscape paintings that feature a purposely flat, semi-monotone style. While appearing semi-abstract and lacking detail, this painting actually portrays a realistic photograph of a larger-than-life sand dune in North Africa. 

 

I purposely selected this image to give the viewer a different take on the genre. I hoped to direct the focus of the picture on the color, tone and location, rather than the execution of the painting.
