POLOLIA

2019 painting on a ceramic tile. Measures 10" by 12". Thick and densly painted, a jellyfish (or, "Pololia in Hawaiian) hangs in an etheral background that hints of the ocean. Each section of the painting features dabs of blotted, streaked and heavily applied paint to build out the color.

Fun fact: This painting slipped off it's drying surface after I'd finished, and it slammed into the ground from about 5 feet. Somehow, it didn't shatter or chip.... #luck
