NEVADA AURORA

2019 oil on canvas landscape, measuring 16" by 20". This painting takes on a modern approach to landscape painting by being rendered in a flat, monotone style, placing emphasis on light and its gradations. Portraying a mountainscape in sunset, the red and yellow colors mix into a haze.  This image was selected purposely to give the viewer a different take on the genre and intone more about the location, the light and simplicity of the area in the painting, rather than the execution of the painting.
